Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. (Matthew 5:8) Purity, even purity of heart, is the main thing upon which to focus our sight.
We need to be made clean within through the Spirit and the Word, and then we shall be clean without by consecration and obedience.
There is a close connection between the affections and the understanding: if we love evil, we cannot understand that which is good. If the heart is foul, the eye will be dim. How can those men see a holy God who love unholy things?
By comparison; What a privilege it is to see God here! A glimpse of Him is to contact Heaven touching Earth!
In Christ Jesus the pure in heart behold the Father. We see Him, His truth, His love, His purpose, His sovereignty, His covenant character. Yes, we see Himself in The Christ Jesus.
But this is only understood as sin is kept out of the heart. Only those who aim at godliness can cry, “Mine eyes are ever towards the Lord.”
The desire of Moses, “I beseech thee, I urgently request you to show me your glory,” can only be fulfilled in us as we purify ourselves from all iniquity.
(“iniquity” here being defined as: immoral or grossly unfair behavior.)
We shall “see him as he is,” and “every one that hath this hope in him purifieth himself.”
(Everyone who has this hope in himself/herself purifies him/herself.) *
The enjoyment of present fellowship and the hope of the beatific vision are urgent motives for purity of heart and life. Lord, make us pure in heart that we may see Thee!

This is a key point in our effort to draw closer to The Christ, the Holy Spirit and The Almighty Father in Heaven. Pray to see God as HE is, not as any preacher might try to explain.
Think a while about the meaning of what information God gives you, and words that come to mind.
Consider especially if you think, “This is not my normal vocabulary and my normal thinking.” If you get that thought, you are not a lunatic. You are hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit! He will teach you how to remember, and “defuse” the “bombs” of pain, anger, guilt, shame, blame, regret, and desire for revenge.
HE will teach us to learn to completely see what motivated these people to hurt us – ‘us’ being you and me.
With HIS help we will cleanse ourselves of our anger or feelings that we were denigrated, or abused, invalidated, made little or light, laughed at, dishonored and disrespected. Then we can give the upset to God and release it from ourselves forever.
We can say to ourselves, “This is not me. This is an upset that I have been holding. This is my creation and I shall cease giving it creative energy.
I take this idea, and in my imagination, move it as a cloud into outer space. All the upset and pain put upon me about this parent, person, or issue is in that cloud. Behind the cloud is only black space and stars.
Remind self, “This is not me. This is my creation. I’m going to let it go into darkest outer-space and let it break up. It will “dis-integrate” and be gone forever. It is disintegrating now. Thank you, Christ Jesus, for your blessing over this issue. It is gone. I can forgive this upset and let it pass.
Now send it away, let it go, watch as it becomes a light fog and then dissipates and finally disappears. It is gone. Let it stay gone!
In my study of this word “forgive” I return to a simple definition. We forgo desire for revenge. We give the issue to Jesus and let it go.
We are advised further; accept the idea that they no longer owe you any debt. They do not owe you any apology. When Jesus died on the cross his last words were “It is finished” which from the Roman meant The debt is paid. This person can be let out of debtor’s prison. It’s DONE. Telling them off and showing your anger or tears indicates you have not forgiven. We do not want revenge. We want to let it all go and “be done and over with.”
I further recommend that we think through what their lives might be like or may have been like, and that they are still reacting, “actng out” or “dramatizing” their old responses to what others have said or done to them.
We sometimes see some faces that are chronically angry. This is a sign of serious spiritual illness. 10,000 hours of counseling won’t change it. Jesus our Christ can change it if you’ll pray, let it all go and let HIM handle it. He will talk to them. He will get any apologies from them. YOU and I must forgo desire for this revange, and reparation of debt, and instead, give it to God to handle to finality. I have one or two additional articles you’ll run into about this subject because it tends to be very tenatious (sticky) for many of us.
It is probable you’ll come to some new “cognition” or “realization.
Do you have a new realization after this? What is it? Can you write it into a notebook or diary or Bible study book that is exclusively for you?
When you follow this course of action, you will be cleansed and you can forgive.
When you forgive, God can forgive you. If we refuse to forgive, it is possible God will say, “I cannot receive you into the Heavenly Kingdom. You must forgive first. I’m sorry, but, I do not know you!”
God wants us to pray and at least mentally speak to him. Converse with Him. Through these conversations or moments of what seems like you imagine speaking to him, remember whatever you thought or are thinking, came from him first and was known to him before you were conceived in your mother’s womb.
The reason for the prayers is not to inform Him! It is to inform yourself, think it through and develop understanding and forgiveness.
I admit this may be the hardest thing for us to do in all our lives. We Must Teach ourselves to forgive and forget. It is, in my humble opinion, the righteous way uphill along the slim rocky path to Heaven. It truly MUST be done. Finally, wish that person a better future.
Consider Mathew 7:13
The Bible verse that speaks about the wide road leading to destruction, often interpreted as hell, is Matthew 7:13, which states: “Enter through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it.”
- Narrow gate/broad road: The verse contrasts the “narrow gate” leading to life with the “broad road” leading to destruction.
- Destruction: This is often understood as hell or eternal damnation.
- Many go through it: The verse highlights that many people choose the broad road, suggesting it’s a popular and easy path, but one that leads to horrific consequences.
I envision a small group of we believers walking up a rocky path, sometimes painful, to reach the mountain summit. To our left we see a gently descending broad road. It is smooth. There are grass and wild flowers on either side.
“The world” most of the world’s population is on that path. Some may say they have been Judeo-Christian followers of The Way of Jesus, but they really never fully accepted that idea and never gave up, threw away or deleted the old memorys, old photos, and old ideas.
They cannot get off that path which has sides like a ravine. Behind them are many more hundreds, even thousands of people pressing on. They reach a place where the path narrows. There is no hope of escape now. The only direction is forward into whatever is in the dark tunnel ahead. This is the path to destruction.
It was loveless sex, drugs, rock-n-roll Devil’s Music, free rent, free food including questionable ingredients, everything watched by police and guards.
Their lives within their little gated community or “15-minute city,” were paid for by the government. They were always peaceful, quiet, and life was convenient with the stores near their apartments. They had no worries and no problems about money. They had enough of everything within a 15-minute walk. But they sometime earlier gave consent to Satan to have this semi-retired or part-time working life.
They took the computer chip in their right hands, believed what they were told and followed orders exactly.
For them, the reward is not Heaven and is not Gods kindly love and protection. When they renounced Jesus Christ, they lost everything forever.
I pray you will not be on that path. In that you are reading this, it indicates there is yet time for you to pray for salvation.
