Charles Haddon Spurgeon began preaching in London in December 1853 and remained there as the minister of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) until his death in January 1892, a span of nearly 40 years. A most interesting man who brought many to Christ and taught Christian truth to thousands.

Pastor Spurgeon’s English is from the 1800s but he was probably the greatest teacher and preacher England ever knew; It spares as I study him further that he must have been absolutely in love with and obsessed with the Holy Scriptures.
