I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man. (Hosea 11:9)
The Lord thus makes known His sparing mercies. It may be that you, dear reader are now weighed down under the burden of many problems. It seems like there is no escape from your worries and fears. Let the Bible text lift you up from despair. The Lord now invites you to consider your ways and confess your sins, for that is the first step out of your difficulties.
If The Lord were a man he might have abandoned you or worse. If He were to act now after the manner of men, it would be a word and an attack that might have been the end of your life. But it is not so, because “as high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are his ways above your ways.”
You rightly judge that He is angry, but he keeps not His anger forever; If you turn from sin to Jesus, God will turn from wrath. Because He is the only True and Living God, and not man, there is forgiveness in him, not continuous wrath toward you, even though you have waged a long life of battles against Gods right ways of living.
We have an all-wise God to deal with, and not a hard- hearted man, or even a merely just man, whose justice sentences may be debatable.
Perhaps no person could have patience with your persistent antagonism. Perhaps you were doing something for good but it was misinterpreted! You would have wearied out an angel, as you have wearied your sorrowing father; but God is long-suffering. He tolerates our mistakes waiting for us to realize we have been creating our own troubles!
Come to God and confess, believe that He wants a better future for you, and turn from your evil ways, seek the right way of living as Jesus and his disciples have taught it, and you shall be rescued.
Comment: Too many are embarrassed before God about their sin, and run away from Him. That’s the wrong direction. He knew we would sin before we were born. Return to HIM for forgiveness and help restoring your thoughts and behavior to His righteous Ways.
