Our History
For over six decades, Sekas International has been a prominent player in the fur and outerwear industry. Throughout its extensive history, the company has upheld its legacy of producing top-tier fur products for discerning retailers worldwide. This commitment to excellence continues to define the company’s identity to this very day.
As a privately held, second-generation, family-owned enterprise, Sekas International has evolved its offerings to include a private clientele division and a service department, addressing the needs of a diverse and expanding customer base seeking meticulously crafted garments.
Initially specializing in private-label production of exquisite American mink apparel, the company swiftly gained renown for its meticulous selection of pelts and materials. These choices were central to crafting the sophisticated esthetics sought after by exclusive salons. Drawing inspiration from European design influences, Sekas International innovated modern fashions that adorned the finest establishments.
Over time, the company diversified its range, introducing a variety of furs while maintaining its focus on the art of fine mink craftsmanship. Seamlessly merging the innate allure of fur with contemporary precious fabrics, the company ventured into the realm of outerwear, creating a harmonious fusion of nature’s beauty and modern luxury.
In the year 1990, leveraging its manufacturing expertise, Sekas International established a service department. Initially offering restyling and remodeling services, the department expanded to encompass repairs, cleaning, and cold storage, catering to the comprehensive needs of its clientele.
A significant turning point occurred in 1995 with the passing of valued customer Harvey Berger from Berger Brothers, a second-generation furrier. This event led to the acquisition of a dedicated roster of individual clients who had grown accustomed to the company’s hallmark traits of transparency and personalized attention during their garment selections.
This pivotal moment marked the inception of the company’s private clientele division, facilitating direct interactions with end consumers.
In 2000, another long-standing patron, Irving Steinbach of Louis Steinbach Son, a second-generation furrier, retired from his venerable 80-year-old establishment. This retirement presented an opportunity for Sekas International to expand its customer base even further.
Despite the continuous growth experienced over the years, one core principle remained true: Sekas International’s unwavering commitment to delivering excellence in quality, craftsmanship, and service.

Fitting
A fitting is sometimes necessary as the final step to ensure that the garment fits properly. Sometimes 2 or 3 fittings will be required as the tailors work building your special garment. This is no small endeavor. Of course so much skilled labor costs more, but for those who deserve the very best, this is your year to place your order.
